Baby Steps Win The Race

By: 0

With any new endeavor, whether it’s physical, mental or emotional, starting with small steps is always best. Taking “baby steps”  is crucial when starting your fitness journey, and will benefit you down the road.

When starting CrossFit it’s often so exciting for some that they want to take on Mt. Everest in their first few weeks! But we encourage learning proper technique with each movement, and then  adding weight and intensity in increments. With a solid foundation your lifting technique will improve, you’ll be able to lift heavier weights, and you’ll have faster workout times. Most importantly, with proper technique you are less likely to sustain an injury.

Just like an actual building, in order for it to withstand the wear and tear of nature and time it must be built on a strong foundation. If you start putting sheet rock up on a faulty foundation the building will be sure to crumble.

In the beginning stages of your CrossFit journey we ask that you leave your pride and ego at the door. By taking baby steps in the gym you can build your foundation of strength, endurance and coordination. Our classes are very demanding, and we ask a lot of you every time you enter the gym. We know that each step we ask you to take will improve your skill with the movements. Our system of building CrossFitters with baby steps works, and we have seen it transform 100’s of people. These small steps win the race, and soon you’ll be ready to add more weight to your stable foundation.
