Coach’s Tip: Elbows Up

When you catch that clean you want to keep those elbows high. When you execute that thruster, keep ’em up! In that front squat we want them pointing to the other side of the room.

Elbows up requires shoulder flexibility. If you are one of the many people who has tight shoulders then “elbows up” might be a tall order.  There is hope on the horizon, however, with mobility tools. Get those lacrosse balls on your mid and upper back. Get them rolling all around the shoulder blades. Your body will thank you, and you will be surprised at how those elbows inch their way up after every mobility session.
