Back on the Paleo Wagon

By: 0

If you’re like me, you have spent the last few days (okay, maybe more like a week) in complete excess.  Pie, turkey, candied sweet potatoes, lots of stuffing, and washing it all down with plenty of great wine.  Well, I hate to break it to you but the party is over.  Time to get back to normalcy.  The biggest thing that I want to remind everyone, and especially those who just finished the Paleo challenge is to not get down on yourself and feel bad about the cheats that may have happened over the holiday.  But now that things are back to normal, you must return to your regular Paleo eating ways if you want to keep the new you that came from eating Paleo.  The major problem with most diets is not that they don’t work, it’s that people won’t stick to them.  I personally know quite a few people who lost great amounts of weight using the Atkins diet.  Sadly, they got sick of the way that they were eating, went back to their old ways and gained all or most of it back.  Did the diet work?  Absolutely.  Their change in eating is what brought the pounds back, not staying on the diet and gaining weight.  It is in this light that I remind you today that it is time to get off the crack and back on the Paleo train.  Time for you to make some great progress while most people are bitching about how they’ve put on 10lbs through the holidays.  It won’t be a simple walk in the park, and I promise you that if you had a weekend like me, there will be some sugar cravings (which I am really not looking forward to) but it will be worth it.  Best of luck!  And while it’s not technically a Paleo article, I’ll leave you with a fantastic write up originally written regarding the Zone diet by Nicole Carroll:  Getting off the Crack
