Zero – Success!

By: 0

The Zero Prostate Cancer Run was a success. Over 400 people gathered on the track at the college on Saturday morning for the best community running event in Napa.

Wine Country CrossFit provided the pre-race warm up. Some ran a 5K. Others a 10K. Some walked one mile. The best part was the little kids, three years and under, who ran in the Super Heroes 100 meter dash.

This anti-cancer event was started by three Napa sisters who lost their dad to prostate cancer. They are each growing their families and they still work hard to put this race together each year. Proceeds go to support those who have the nasty disease, and to fund the search for a cure.

Last year we raised 75K, and this year looks to be closer to 100K. Thank you to all from our CrossFit community who came out to run and lend support. Thank you also to those who could not make it but made a donation.

At least 20 Wine Country CrossFitters made it out. New CrossFitter Jesslyn Saxton won the women’s event, and Coach Hilary finished second in her age group. Congrats to them!

If you missed the lead-up to the event but would still like to donate a few pennies we invite you to do so here.

Thanks again to our great community for helping to make Zero such a success!
