Study Helps to Determine Your “Fitness Age”

One of our members recently shared with us an article in the NY Times that highlighted a study of 5000 Norwegians who were pushed to limit to establish their VO2 Max, and those results were compared with simple measurements and/or facts to see if any correlated with the VO2 Max numbers.

The resulting  lab work found 7 easily-gathered bits of information, and the researchers then developed an online calculator to establish one’s “Fitness age!” All you need to do is plug your info into the online calculator– specifically your gender, the number of workouts you do per week you do, the duration of your workouts, the intensity of your workouts, your waist measurement (in centimeters), and your resting pulse rate.

I turn 36 next Tuesday, and when I plugged in my info, my “fitness age” came back as “

Thursday’s Workout

Turkish Get-Ups – find 1 RM with kettle bell or bar

WOD:

7 Minute AMRAP
5 TGU (heavy as possible, alternate, start on weak side)
25 Goblet Squat (same KB as TGUs)

THEN (no rest)

7 Minute AMRAP
21-15-9
KB Swings  (same KB as previous WOD)
KB Walking Lunges (alternate, start on weak side)
