Sign Up For The Open

By: 0

This crazy thing called The Open starts in three weeks, and we want you to sign up now.

The Open is five workouts spread over five weeks that hundreds of thousands of CrossFitters across the world will complete.

You might think that you’re not yet experienced enough with CrossFit to do this, but you are mistaken.

You might think you can’t do anything RX, so why jump in, but you’re wrong again.

The Open pays big dividends  when you sign up, participate, support other athletes, and work hard. In fact we have seen many “firsts” from athletes during The Open. First pull-ups. First muscle-ups. First overhead squats, etc.

Starting on Thursday October 10th at 5PM the workout is announced. People gather at the gym to watch the announcement, and to strategize the workout. Friday we program The Open workout in our classes, and Friday at 4.30PM starts our Friday Night Lights. We set up heats in the gym so that everyone can work their way through the WOD. There are RX and scaled versions of every workout. There are age-group categories. There’s something for everyone!

We also have people that gather on Saturday morning to complete the WOD. And then there is Open Gym on Sunday where we also see The Open performed.

Sign up NOW, and get your picture on the board at the gym. Enrollment costs $20 via the CrossFit website. You get a cool WCCF T shirt out of the deal, you’ll have a LOT of fun, and you’ll grow your sense of community right in your own gym.

Just before The Open begins on October 10th we will divide the players up into two teams who will both compete for the WCCF House Cup. Team Captains are Lena Septimo, who heads up Team Lacrosse Ballers, and Derrick Light of Team Snatch Happens.

One of the ways to earn points for your team is to become a judge. If you completed the Judges Course earlier this year for the 2019 Open it is still valid for the calendar year. Taking the Judges Course is a good experience for all athletes and participants as it helps everyone understand the movements and their standards.

In short, it’s a WIN WIN WIN. So get your picture on the board and sign up NOW.
