Kids Can CrossFit Too! Also, POSE Running and Death by 10 Meters

By: 0

So sure, you can handle CrossFit yourself – heck, you may have just done “Angie” yesterday and are feeling pretty pleased with yourself. Well, why not share that joy with your kids? Or any kids you may know!

Wine Country CrossFit is holding CrossFit Kids classes this summer, and we want some kids to join in the fun! CrossFit Kids is a wonderful way to get your child moving in a functional and fun way. The CrossFit Kids program uses the template of randomized, functional exercises, performed at high intensity. Adjustments are made to accommodate the specific needs and requirements of children and teens. Workouts consist of exercises containing elements drawn from CrossFit’s main physical skills, while special attention is paid to utilizing progressions for difficult or compound movements, and progressive loading dictated by size, age and consistancy in form. The age range for the classes is from 11 to 15 years old, and the movements and WODs will be adjusted accordingly by the Coach.

The classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:40 pm until 4:30 pm, and will be offered for four weeks beginning next week (we will not offer classes the week of the 4th of July), and the dates are: June 17, 19, 24, and 26, and July 8, 10, 15 and 17. Coach Kris and I will be leading the classes, and have a lot of fun stuff planned to keep your kids happy, entertained and challenged, and to WEAR THEM OUT! (You’re welcome!)

The cost for these classes is $15/session for a drop-in fee, or you can sign your child up for a membership that covers all eight sessions for $100 (that saves you $20! See? I can do math…). You can purchase either option via our website – Please note when registering online to PLEASE use your child’s name and birth date or we cannot find them in our system!

There is limited space for these classes, and we do expect a full roster, so make sure to sign-up early to ensure your child’s spot!

Know someone who may be interested in this offering but isn’t a part of our WCCF family? Please forward this blog post (http://www.winecountrycrossfit.com/pose-death-by-10-meters/ ) on to them!

PS- Yes, today’s WOD involves running. DO NOT SKIP TODAY!!! We will scale any and everything to accommodate all of our members – even those who can’t run!
