The Natural Prescription to Improve Your Body and Mind

I love being outside. Okay, well maybe not as much when it is pouring rain, but even then time outside almost always seems to be time well spent. And we are so fortunate (again, maybe not on those 100 degree days, or 20 degree mornings!) that we are able to do our workouts with the natural elements just steps away. Well, not only do I think that being outside is a great thing, but it turns out, Science has come to the same conclusion! In fact, Outside Magazine has published a great article for this month on just this subject. Entitled “Take Two Hours of Pine Forest and Call Me in the Morning,” this article discusses the physical and mental health benefits to spending time in the great outdoors. In addition, there is a supplemental article entitled “Six Natural Prescriptions for Improving Your Body and Mind.” I’d highly recommend reading both articles, and then heading outside to enjoy the myriad benefits of the great outdoors!

4 Rounds:
3 Turkish Getups per side (for weight)
10 body rows (add weight as needed)
7 push ups (add weight as needed)
Sub maximal toes to bar (2 less reps than max effort) or lever progressions

For time: 50 Burpee pull ups
