Monday Meal Prep - Bulletproof CoffeeI can’t live without my BulletProof Coffee (BP) in the morning-its what gets me up and going! I have heard  people say they gave it a try but didn’t like it, but I think that its all in the method  …if you don’t mix it properly then the oil separates and its a mess.

I drink BP before a workout, because I can’t eat a meal before exercise.  It gives me energy that lasts the entire morning, and prevents any hunger pains. (I have taken it in the afternoon before an Open workout too- and I feel like it gives me a tiny psychological advantage!) The caffeine is delivered slowly, via the fat, rather than a fast jolt.  I do not worry about the extra calories from the butter and the oil, as this gets burned off and used by my body during Crossfit!  You can read more about it on David Asprey’s website. https://blog.bulletproof.com/how-to-make-your-coffee-bulletproof-and-your-morning-too/
Here is the recipe that I have perfected over a few years, based on the Dave Asprey method: 1 T Kerrygold unsalted grassfed butter, 1 T Brain Octane Oil and your favorite coffee (I use a double shot of Nespresso).  Put the butter and oil in the bottom of the mug, pour hot (very hot) coffee on top, and mix well with a milk frother until creamy.  BP must be drunk while hot…if it cools down the butter will start to separate.
