Meal Prep Monday – Intermittent Fasting
I have heard about Intermittent Fasting for years now, and I confess that it fills me with fear. I come from a long line of people with unstable blood sugar. Not sure what that means? Can you say GRUMPY when hungry! One time my boy friend, who I spent years kayaking with all over the world, told me I should just wear a feed bag around my neck like a horse. Always hungry. That was me. Fasting? Never!
But now I’m into health and wellness, which includes a closer look at nutrition. Since my professional kayaking days I’ve made enormous changes in what I eat, my blood sugar is stable, and I don’t need the feed bag around my neck.
Food is about comfort, and sometimes I have to consider that what’s right for my health might not be comfortable or easy. That’s where Intermittent Fasting comes in. There are actual health benefits to NOT eating. This is especially so since we live in a world where everyday at the table is like Christmas!
