The View at Skybox!

David Zurowski and Hilary Wendel competed last Saturday in the Dia De Los Beats, and they did great! At the end of the day they were 1/4 burpee away from a podium finish, and they were competing against teams a LOT younger. Here’s what Hilary had to say about their adventure:

“Dave and I competed at Dia de Los Beasts at Sky Box in American Canyon. We really signed up just for kicks!  We just wanted to do our best, have fun, challenge ourselves and not get hurt!  We did all IMG_1574that, and even ended up in the finals!  There were two divisions, RX and Scaled.  We signed up for scaled because Muscle Ups and a few other movements were just not in our wheelhouse.  We were probably the old folks of the crowd, but that was ok- we held our own!  There were 3 wods, and then if you placed in top 4 overall, you were in the finals.  We were really tired after the 3 wods, but being in the finals was an honor and it was very exciting.  We finished in 4th place overall, and 1/2 a burpee away from placing 3rd!!  Sky Box is a beautiful box and the volunteers were awesome.  The owner, Lei and her partner, put on an amazing event.  I would love to drop in at their box sometime – they have a great set up.  We should all sign up for Dia De Lost Beasts next time!
