Coach’s Tip – Squat Barefoot
Have you tried taking of your shoes when you squat? It’s a good thing to test with regularity.
Form starts at the feet. Are you able to keep your toes on the ground, generate or maintain an arch, and create a solid squat? You know, solid means butt back, chest up and knees out.
Take your shoes off and see what you discover. You might need to mobilized those feet with a lacrosse ball to keep cramping at bay. The adductors might call for loosening if you can’t keep the big toe on the ground.
Shoes can be a crutch, so take ’em off and see what you find!
