Burpees – Nature's BowFlex!

There are few movements we perform in CrossFit that are more efficient at giving our whole body a workout than burpees. I mean, come on! You’ve got strength, speed, flexibility and coordination in just one, and when you cycle a whole bunch together, you add in all the other elements of fitness! In fact, burpees are such a great way of getting a body into shape, that in the last few years folks have begun to jump-start their fitness regimens by taking the 100 Burpee Day Challenge, wherein you perform one burpee for every day of the challenge (1 on day 1, 2 on day 2, 3 on day 3, etc.). There is a fun blog that chronicled the challenge nearly day-by-day, visit it here: 100burpees.blogspot.com. But if you just ask Google, you’ll see dozens of results and can read about and see the successes of folks who’ve completed the challenge. It’s good reading! Now, let’s see the first person to commit to 100 Burpee Box Jumps! 🙂
