Race and Event Training for 2014 and Handstand Work

Sign-ups for Race and Events Training Open Soon!

There has been some great response regarding some events for next year that we can start training for!  I want to take one more week to get a bit better of a sense of what will make the most sense for everyone, and garner a few more suggestions if there are any.

So far, we’ve had positive responses for:

  • NorCal Tough Mudder (April 12 & 13)
  • Sacramento Spartan Super (Date not confirmed)
  • Sprint and/or Olympic Distance Triathlons
  • San Francisco Color Run (March 15)
  • CrossFit and CrossFit-style Competitions (any specific suggestions?)

We will be choosing three events to participate in as a team (though you can of course sign up for whatever you want!) and see if there is a desire for event-specific training for those who participate.

Let us know if there is a specific event you know of that you’d like to participate in that we haven’t listed, and we can put it out to the group as a whole.

Looking forward to seeing what we can come up with!

Tuesday’s Workout

Handstand Practice:
Beginner – Donkey kicks, kick-ups to wall, chest-facing handstands against wall, handstand holds
Intermediate – Shoulder taps, wall walks
Advanced – Free-standing handstands, handstand walks, handstands to roll-outs

WOD: Death by 10 meters (sub Death by Hang Power Snatch if needed (105/75))

OPTIONAL Cash-out:
Run 500 m
100 Double-Unders
Row 500 m
100 Double-Unders
Run 500 m
