New Strength Cycle, Paleo Restaurant Opens in Berkeley, Let's Get Strong!

Benchmark Mondays are on hold for the next month while we dive into building strength ala Barbell WOD. This holistic approach, developed by our friends at Cal Strength, will make you better in ALL your lifts. To learn more about the Barbell WOD read this.  We not utilize those 1 rep maxes established last week, and if you missed one you can make it up right there in class. Strength training days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday’s during this 5 week cycle.

Mission Heirloom is the new paleo restaurant on Vine and Shattuck in Berkeley. I know that’s not exactly right around the corner, but it looks worth the drive. I wish they were in Napa as they have amazing looking food to go! Alas, seems they are starting off with a bang. Please let us know when you get down there to check them out.

Monday’s WOD

 

Hang Snatch from Position 1
4×2
Start at 70% of 1RM Snatch. Level load across all sets.

Back Squat
1×1 at 90% of 1RM
1 AMRAP Drop Set at 35-45# down

AMRAP 7 min – Make it Fast & Furious
2 Shuttle Run – Down and Back 2x
5 Man Makers
10 Pull ups
