Coach’s Tip – Keep A Flat Back

Rule #1: Don’t round that back! Deadlift. Snatch. Clean, etc. They ALL require that you have a flat back. When the back is flat the integrity of the spine is protected. When the spine is in alignment you will be stronger in your movement. Not sure what all this means? Don’t stress. Just keep a flat back when you LIFT!

Hint: The gateway to a flat back and core stability is through the thoracic spine. What?!? Yup. Squeeze those shoulder blades back and down and see how much easier it is to keep that back flat.
